Julian Freeman DMD, PA N.J. Specialty Permit Number 2887
We are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Julian Freeman to our practice.
Dr. Freeman has been in orthodontic practice for 22 years. His career in private orthodontic practice has been enhanced by his role as an educator at numerous dental schools, his residency in pediatric dentistry and his active involvement in local and national dental organizations.
Upon graduation from Tufts University, Dr. Freeman went on to Temple University Dental School where he earned his DMD. He completed a two year post doctoral orthodontic program at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine. He then completed a two year pediatric dentistry residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Freeman’s academic career was distinguished by numerous honors, including the Anatomy Award for the highest grade in Gross Anatomy and induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society.
A year after joining the faculty at the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry, he returned to the University’s Orthodontic Department where he formulated and implemented an innovative program to teach orthodontics to dental students. This program was based on his comprehensive understanding of both orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.
While a member of the University staff, the Montifiore Hospital and Medical Center of New York offered Dr. Freeman the position of Director of Orthodontics, which he accepted. In addition to maintaining an active orthodontic practice, he treated infants and children with cleft lip and palates, children and adults with cranio-facial malformations and other conditions that required orthodontics in combination with surgical intervention. This combined responsibility for care, treatment and teaching required the utmost in skill and balance.
In order to reach the highest level of his profession, Dr. Freeman passed a rigorous examination and became a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Society of Dentistry for Children.
Dr. Freeman has remained dedicated to serving the local community with the finest orthodontic care. He maintains staff appointments in the Dental Department at the Jefferson Medical School and Hospital, the Dental Department at the Graduate Hospital and is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Graduate Periodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Freeman also has presented numerous research papers to advance the orthodontic profession.
